I've been emailing R* back and forth about an issue I've been having. I'm unable to continue the story line on one of the final missions. So basically, I bought a $60 game so that it can be a paper weight...I can't play any more missions because they don't popup and I can't play online at the moment because my Live subscription expired while waiting on them to fix the online capability....ALL IN ALL, I'm pissed.
In a recent email from them they told me to explain some things so here's my response (verbatim) to their stupid questions:
STORY MODE WON'T LET ME PROGRESS...I'm stuck after Surveying the Score.
Michael is unavailable. There are no more missions for any of the characters even though it says that they all have a mission to do.
I don't want to have to start all over because you guys don't know how to program this $60 game I just bought. This is terrible service and I know I'm not alone in thinking this.
-Single Player (Story mode, duh) (Difficulty-impossible because I can't get any further because you guys don't know how to program)
1 - Launch game
2 - Load Story mode
3 - No missions available
4 - ???
5 - Rockstar Profit on my misery.
This sucks.

Didn't happen to me. It's the UD survey mission, right? Something similar happened to me, but I got around it by playing as Trevor or Franklin a bit until things progressed. Make sure your phone isn't on sleep mode or anything.
Also, the game isn't worthless now. It's still a gargantuan free-roam game with all sorts of things to do.

I'm out of things to do. I've put over 15 hours in after the Surveying the Score mission and I've just been beating up hobos. That's it. That's all that's left. I've even bought about everything. I wanted to finish the story but it looks like I'll have to restart for that to be an option.

Hey, good news! You can sell it at a bestbuy or gamestop and then you'll get some of your money back on that "60 dollar paperweight" and then someone else can enjoy the incredible game.

That's rough. I see from a quick Google that you're not alone.
I'm not sure if this will even help, but there's some Franklin missions that are commonly missed because they don't show on the map. Have you called Tonya to do all of the towing missions, and have you done the street races that only show up late at night? Neither of these are required to advance the story, but they are missions that count towards 100%, so maybe completing one or two of them will "jump start" the broken mission? Worth a try.
